The Ultimate Indies Tournament was to be scheduled for April of 2002. This would be the 17th annual tournament and the first without notable competitor Jinto Keen. Capbringer decided to head to the tournament shows, and he began to pick and choose who he wanted from there. The numbers dwindled from 128 to 64. Then from 64 to 32. And so on until we hit our final two. Capbringer managed to pull some strings with the creators of the Tournament, and got it so he could host his first show with the finale of this annual Tournament in it. He added the extra stipulation of crowning the first-ever champion of his business.
The two stars who managed to make their way to the finale were Darren Keen and Dravo. Darren Keen (22) was the son of the famous Jinto Keen. After retiring his father the previous year, he took on a more brutal persona, almost dominating all of his matches. Dravo (28) was the veteran going into this match, having won the tournament only 6 years ago. The match was set in stone.
