I really, REALLY don't want a job where I have to talk to people. (I'm shy and embarrassed to talk to other people....yeah, weird I know). Also no waiter job or anything to do with food.

I used to be the same way, but trust me, just do it. It will be helpful to your confidence. Seriously.

Do you stutter constantly, and when I mean constantly, I mean have you have a speech teacher before. Seriously, I had one and am so embarrassed to go out and talk to anyone. Hell, I hate talking period. I do in front of my parents and some good friends, but dude, you just wouldn't understand. I get what you mean though. I've tried to do that kind of stuff before, but it just doesn't happen.

You know told me you were interested in maybe going into writing. I would go to your local paper or send someone there an e-mail and see if they're looking for interns. First of all makes sure it pays, obviously. But, if you can get in with a newpaper it looks really good on your application for college and if you're good you might get a chance to put some of your work in the paper, which is really, really good for exposure.

I'm going to suggest working for Sears for a couple reasons.

1. They will hire pretty much anyone
2. They will hire 15-16,17 year olds
3. You can work in the back in 'Merchandise Pick-up' and not have to deal with anyone

One bad thing about Sears though is that the pay won't be that great... ecspecially if you are working part time ...but it's worth a shot

Yeah, I would prolly want to work on the average a couple days a week. Prolly around 3, in 7 days. No weekends though. There is a reason I get Saturday and Sunday off school. Not to work :)

I'll consider Sears too. Thanks.

^Yea I have 2 friends that have worked at Sears since they were like juniors in high school and they're seniors in college and still working there. They said it's a pretty good job and obviously very stable.

I don't know how much money you're looking to mkae, but I would reccomend that you try to work more than 3 days a week. First of all if you say that's all you want to work when you apply for the job then you'll end up working like 1 a week cuz they know you won't care much about how many hours you get. Secondly once you get you're first pay check you're gonna start wanting to work more. I know that's how I always was. After I got a big check I was happy then I got shit hours for the next 2 weeks and I thought it was cool until I got my check that contained virtually no money. So if you're gonna work at least make it worth your while and try to work 4 days a week.

Yeah, I turn 18 in June and during the summer I was thinking about going to work at a place called MSC. It's a big warehouse that does packaging and stuff from what I hear. My cousin and her husband work there. I hear I could make around 10-12 bucks and hrs there possibly. I wouldn't mind that at all. For the meantime, I just want to get a job under my belt. I'll see what the summer holds when that time comes.

Work at restruants. Not like waiter and stuff, just as a kitchen hand. It's fun and you get free food all the time. Although if you're looking for a part-time job, i suggest call center. You know, the type of people who answer your phone when you want to complain about something? The pay is alot and they would never know who you are.

Pay center is balls. My friend would make up to over 200 calls and no one would answer, it's tiresome and it can get irritating but the pay is good. Restaurant jobs are the best but alot of people get turned down from it. The best start out job, I hate to say because I'm somewhat in the same situation as you Peep, is fast food.

Seriously, Nino is like 100% right.

Fucking go put in your time (3 months at least) at some fast food joint, then after 3 months and you've shown that you can hold a shitty job go around to other places that you want to work with a resume and be like yo, I have experience and I can do what I'm told even if I don't like it. Then its all easy from there.

Also, you might want to change your stance on the no weekends thing. You're a high schooler. The people who would hire you are going to want you to work weekends because no one else wants to. So if you want a job, suck it up and be prepared to do a lot of things that you don't like or want to do.

Get a job at a warehouse.

Seriously, it's perfect for you. Can't go wrong there.

^Yeah, but did you miss the part where I have to be 18? I will look into that in the summer when I turn 18.

Yesterday I got applications at 2 local supermarkets, but both said they weren't accepting, but if a job opened up, they would call me. I went to Lowe's and Sam's Club, and had to be 18 at both places. IDK......
