Well right now Smackdown is without a major title. This obviously has to change pretty soon. I don't think it's much of a debate over which belt will be headed over; I'm almost positive it'll be the World Heavyweight Championship. JR among others have stated in the past they hold the WWE title in importance above the WHC.....so only makes sense Smackdown will get the B title.
Anyway, the question is... which way do you think the title will end up on the show?
Should Edge win the LMS match at Backlash and give his career some much needed fire after this horrible Vicky angle?
Should CM Punk cash in his MITB already on either Cena or Edge and go straight into his WHC reign?

I really think the title should be brought in around the waist of Edge. He has been stale for so long right now and a win in this type of match could really be what he needed to reignite the fire of that old Edge.
I really think giving the belt to CM Punk this early would be a huge mistake. The Smackdown roster is pretty thin right now and blowing his title shot this early could end up resulting exactlly how it did last year when he cashed it in. I say give the title to Edge and let them build towards a CM Punk/Edge match at Summerslam.

I agree Edge should win the Backlash match and get a clean win over John Cena. Edge needs it to push him back to the right track. I don't care about all of this John Cena BULLSHIT. I don't like the guy and WWE would be so much better without the guy in my opinion.

Anyway Edge needs to win the title with no rematch and bring it to Smackdown and kick ass all over the damn arena.

It will obviously be the WHC. The WWE title can't even possibly go there, unless Punk cashes in on it, because it's a match between HHH and Orton for it. The WHC makes sense, because Edge is in the match for it. The one thing that is u for debate though, is will WWE let Edge beat Cena? Little prediction I have is that Cena will beat Edge, and Punk will cash in after the match, and bring the title to Smackdown.

Edit: Jmay, your anti-cena shit is getting olsd already... WWE would b ebetter without him? Bullshit. If Cena wasn't around, there goes millions of dollars in merchandise, and reveneue, and PPV buys. Not to mention, he's been alot better over the past year, without his marine shit.

I think a build towards and Edge/Punk feud would make a lot more sense. We can't have a sad mopey Edge chasing Punk for the title. I think people would get behind Punk a lot more as a challenger rather than a champion. Besides, this whole cashing in MITB post match is just getting old and predictable.... perhaps it's time for another cash in at an actual match like RVD did.
HOWEVER...a LMS match does leave a very obvious wide open gap for such a cash in. Presumably both of these guys are going to be half dead at the end of this one.

Yeah, I'd like to see Punk announce before hand that he's gonna do it. If he jumps Edge after the match then a) its another meaningless title change and b)its pretty much exactly what he did to Edge last year. If he jumps Cena after the match then its a guaranteed heel turn, and there's no room for CM Punk to be a heel on SD, they need him as a face. I don't think last year's title reign was a complete waste as it did put him on the map, but they just can't do the same thing again. The only thing I'm annoyed about is if Edge is gonna win the title at Backlash, then what was the point of putting the belt on Cena at WM?

I really don't think we'll have Punk have the same underdog type reign he had before. I think the fact that WWE gave him the MITb again symbolises that they want to make him a full time main eventer, and not an underog. Not to mention, it'd be hard to book him as an undersog now, after last year, where he won the WHC, had some impressive wins, and had the tag and IC belts, and now has won MITB twice. I have high hopes for Punk's next reign.

I'm honestly starting to think that not moving Cena over to Smackdown was for the sole reason of letting CM Punk flourish and come into his own as a main eventer. We all know it would have never happened had they been on the same brand.

i think for a ahwile smackdown should go without a main title and emphasize more on the other smaller titles and storylines..this would create interest or maybe even make rey and his title their main event

Yeh the one thing I don't like about the Cena bashing is - it's somewhat irrelevant, and no proof has been brought up to back up your point (nor should it be, it'd be off point).

I'm not a big fan of Cena, but you can't deny that he brings in money, and fuck loads of it (regardless to what audience it comes from).

Firstly, JR is possibly one of the worst guys to continuously change his mind on what's classed as the most prestigious title in the WWE. Look back to the first (second?) draft, when Cena went to RAW. JR's opinion on the WWE Title being the most coveted (right word?) title in the WWE changed quickly! I don't think you can take this as a pointer to that title returning to Smackdown.

However, I think you're right with this. It's gotta be the WHC Title. The WWE Title just seems too caught up in the Legact/McMahon fued right now.

I don't know how they should get the WHC Title onto SD. I dare say though, unfortunately, Edge will steal the title back to SD instead of getting that clean win he needs (and deserves, imo). I hope Punk doesn't cash his MiTB in yet. He needs to do the whole 'cash in and lose' thing, which will really bring out some uncertainty with that. That's another story. I wouldn't even be sad if Jericho pulled off another stunt like he did last year with Punk, and won the title. The guy has to be coming off some steam from Mania (ignoring that Rourke shit), and would be another great title holder for SD! Could you imagine a Edge/Jericho/Cena fued. Sweet! It's like Cena's old fueds coming back to haunt him, hehe.

I'm thinking with Cena as WHC, he should get a win at Backlash. But either after the match or on Raw, Vickie Guerrero should vacate the title and send it to SD. That way, the whole Cena/Edge/Vickie storyline could continue a little longer without the belt. Someone would probably pick up the title, but probably not Punk. Maybe Batista jumping shows or Jericho taking the title.

Everytime the MITB happens we have people rushing around trying to figure out how he will win the title. He has 12 months, and he may as well get built up with a proper feud or two before even thinking of cashing it in. I think Edge should bring it back after a win at Backlash and then hold it for a good 6 months without Vickie, to let him show people his real heel skills and prove to them he is not a transitional champion.

Because your opinion has absolutely no logic behind it. It's just "OMGZ CENA SUX HE'S A FAG I DUN LIKE GAYS LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL!" Cena makes more money for the WWE than nayone else. Hell, he probably makes more money in a couple of weeks than you do in a year. Not too bad for someone who sucks, eh?
