To be fair to Wes I think he said he took them coming back to him as having him clean up his act by getting them in NXT. He also said he's going after the NXT Championship.

I mean, he could’ve gone after the NXT championship and had the support of his friends in his corner

Also, I know this is kayfabe but I mean like Carter having an ex try to derail his career wasn’t really so much his fault lmao

I agree with blaze, though outside of the kayfabe it’s definitely going to be what leads him to his main event push as a heel.
