Not really. You can't get people talking if there's no input by the OP to get the conversation started. Copy and pasting a news article from the article title to the hyperlinks, without any real input by the guy who posted it rarely gets people talking or garners attention.

News generates opinions, that's a fact. Look up the user "Dirtsheet" and tell me otherwise.
Of course I recommend adding your own opinion to the OP, but I still encourage sharing news regardless.

When I share a news story I usually try to keep my opinion relatively short and try to open a - ahem -"discussion". I don't see much of a difference.
