Inspired by discussion in the Impact thread. Jeff Jarrett dropped the NWA belt to Ray Gonzalez at an event in Puerto Rico, but NWA and TNA didn't acknowledge the win. Currently, though, NWA does acknowledge the win. This doesn't make sense, right? Surely the true lineage should continue from Ray?

I feared this was going to happen some day. See, Eddy Steinblock was the owner of EPW, and he effectively used the promotion as a vanity vehicle for himself. He established the EPW Heavyweight Championship, gave it to himself, and never lost it. Ever. He died before ever dropping it. The only hope in hell of this ever leaving his hands was in a match against DJ Hyde, which Steinblock won in just over a minute. Whilst in this reign, he managed to take in the Cagematch Worst Match Ever(TM), defeating an Ultimate Warrior impersonator called One Warrior Nation in an atrocious match. So yeah, this was never going to leave. Ego tripping shit wrestler is the official NWA World Champion.

It could be worse, though. You could be actually watching that match.

Remember Beyond the Mat? Dennis Stamp was the referee for that Terry Funk "retirement match". It was at a partly ECW-promoted event, and before the main event, Tommy Dreamer presented Terry Funk with a "Lifetime ECW Championship". Sounds like a title to me.
