I mean Chris Jericho is a legend, worthy of being called "G.O.A.T" because he's always the total package no matter if he's a heel or face. And that is more of my major gripes about the veterans AKA "part-timers", don't have these guys just coming out doing their same usual spiel and expect much out of it, WWE. Let's change these guys persona and in-ring technique, a better entrance, new look (without going overboard, of course) and then let's get these guys to pass the torch or be more in this manager/mentor position. If they can't adapt in the new market/new audience then alright, start having them step back or using them in a lesser degree.Chris Jericho has changed his ring style to be more wild with brawling and only throwing in a couple of his old classics once in a while.
Honestly in my heart, I would have much respected as the new era started to show that these veterans made their one last matches against new talent that either compared very well to their own style or were just as competitive as them. Win or lose that last match, the veterans do their public speech, "pass the torch" over to the new up and comers then walk away. Real simple and easy.
But like SWL and myself are stating, the company still needs these people for their reputation and the reactions that some of them can still get. I am all for the new WWE talent to takeover BUT I would also like for it to be at the expense that we have spectacular rosters for the company. And not just because of their "name", their indies history, their 1 or 2 matches that were get with whomever, etc. but because they've shown that at WWE week after week, event after event that they never give just subpar performances.
IF THEY'VE GOT WHAT IT TAKES THEN WWE PLEASE STOP HOLDING BACK THEIR TALENTS AND ABILITIES!!
