Of course I miss 2012 TNA. Personally, the Top 3 year in TNA history, with 2005 and 2006 (HM to 2008, 2009). And who wouldn't? We had:

- the Summer of Austin Aries (before that he dominated the X Division with having great matches every week)
- Bobby Roode being THE MAN for first 7 months, becoming the longest reigning TNA Champion ever
- Impact being live every week
- Aces & 8s were still interesting
- Joseph Park (while he was still funny) searching for Abyss and OVW
- Slammiversary & BFG PPVs were off the charts shows
- the streak of secondary PPVs being awesome (Sacrifice, Destination X, Hardcore Justice)
- the best and highest quality BFG Series
- first ever TV shows from the UK (dat crowd there :O)
- Daniels & Kazarian breaking through and having the year of their careers, battling Styles & Angle, Joe & Magnus; cutting some fantastic promos, doing funny shit all year
- this amazing sleazy newcomer mr. Joey Ryan winning Gutcheck, burying Taz, then defeating Al Snow on BFG
- Ring Ka King in India
- many, many MOTY candidates (Storm/Roode, Styles/Roode, Aries/Roode, Aries/Bully, Aries/Hardy, Aries/Joe, Styles & Angle/Daniels & Kaz......)

I must bring up Claire Lynch, but lets pretend that didn't exist or lets just remember the baby shower by Daniels & Kaz who saved that storyline.

Fun game: Someone post some great TNA moments from 2012 that didn't include Aries or Roode.

tough task

And yeah, this is a helluva tough task to do. 2012 - nearly every great match, every great promo, every great moment on television, it was because of Austin Aries and Bobby Roode. The rest was other former Fortune members.

2012 was the year that got me into TNA. So its a bit sad to see how it sunk in 2013 in comparison.

Never missed an Impact from April to December 2012, surprise surprise the Aces & 8s (which started alright) pushed me away.

I'll add onto this:

-For most of the year, the X-Division was not well-pushed + interesting. Option C was created and we got some breakout stars like Zema Ion
-Gail Kim's reign of "terror", becoming the longest-reigning KO Champ before Tessmacher's push went relatively well, all the divisions were great (now they're unwatchable)
-The early stages of the Magnus push and the tag team with Joe
-Bully Ray creating a character so awesome that he was a top heel despite a mid-card career and non-stop jobbing
-The crowd felt like they gave a shit for most of the year
-Bad Influence... deserves a second mention
-Consistent wrestling quality throughout, almost every match felt like there was a lot of effort involved
-Making attempts to change the stale wrestling format with Open Fight Night and the awesome Gutcheck concept
-Attempting to make a mid-card belt mean something
-The Crimson heel turn that was really damn entertaining
-Todd Keneley and face Taz, can't believe TNA commentary is getting a thumb up
-Many many many James Storm segments
-Samoa Joe being a complete monster in the BFG Series
-Not many of the ex-WWE guys made a big impact, the TNA guys overshadowed them*
-Even Hulk fucking Hogan was a tolerable on-screen character for part of the year
-Live Impact that felt more live than Raw

The one complaint was that ratings were down from 2011, so from a business standpoint all this stuff didn't work so we don't have a leg to stand on. Dixie said once that "We don't care about ratings anymore, we care about making the fans happy." Wait a second, one more positive.

-No heel authority figure

Really, a lot of what they should have learned in 2013 was that the same crap just doesn't work anymore. Pushing Jeff Hardy and a heel stable does not work anymore. As wrestling fans, we want something new. Austin Aries and the "new TNA" we saw in 2012 was all kinds of new, so I hope they learned their lesson from 2013 and can move on from there.

My only complaint with it was the downfall of gutcheck.
