My niece, who is white as snow, used smurf growing up with her friends. It isn't meant to be a negative thing, this was explained to you already. It is just another way of saying "homie" or "my friend". It just caught on with other groups because of hip hop and marketing of urban fashion, food, and lifestyle.

So you can understand... nigg-a is not the same as nigg-er.

Some people view both as bad but the word "smurf" is only bad when it is being used against black people. The one with "er" at the end is ALWAYS used against black people.

Do you understand now? It is really not that hard to grasp here.

Okay.... Think of it this way; Every race has their own slur they can use with each other.

But whenever someone out side of that race uses it, then get ready for a confrontation and controversy.

Whether Hogan is currently a racist or not can be debated but he clearly was when he said what he did and that is enough of a reason for people to not want him back.
If someone insulted any part of who you are, would you want to see them week in and week out on a show you want to enjoy? Of course not!
