He's helped put professional wrestling into the mainstream in the 1980s and beyond. Too bad he rubbed a lot of people the wrong way to tarnish his name and his overall legacy. Karma got him.

Terry Bollea was a piece of shit human being, who held his coworkers back and helped prevent attempts at a Union (the likelihood of that union actually happening if Hogan didn't help squash it is probably small but he did kill it). He also was openly racist and clearly not a good father to his daughter. So part of me is not sad in seeing him go.

But I was born in 1985 and was a wrestling fan my whole life. HULK HOGAN the wrestling character was a HERO in the eyes of children like me from 1984-1993. As an 8 year old I didn't give a fuck about backstage politics. I was happy my hero Hulk Hogan won the Championship from the evil Yokozuna, especially after Yoko cheated to beat The Hitman. That hero of my youth being gone gives me some level of sadness. Also Hulk Hogans popularity is what made wrestling into Prime TIme TV.

Also, Tery Bollea had a wife, had friends, and had a family (don't know the relationship with his son and even though he was estranged from his daughter she has to have some level of grief). As a person who has empathy and human decency I am sad for all those who loved him.

I guess the best way to put it is I'm conflicted but there is most definitely sadness.

So thank you for my Childhood memories, Hulkster. I hope loved ones can find peace in your passing.

Too lazy to isolate the small part I'm replying too but as far as I'm aware he was good with Nick, that's why he was able to notify Brooke and also was doing karaoke with Jimmy Hart last night

Probably not even intentional on Lance's part but there's something so beyond Hogan in his first post. I always find it so sad at funerals when the nicest thing people can say about someone was they were a hard worker

Taker tweet is perfect for someone like me that wasn't a fan but also not gonna act like I'm on the Mt Rushmore of righteousness.

Ok so like I wanted to give this a little bit of time before I said anything. As someone who grew up during and become obsessed with wrestling during Hulkamania this is a big deal. Although Hogan was never my guy I was a Dusty guy and then a Warrior guy and a Savage guy but the global heights WWF reached can be directly linked to him. We don’t know if anyone could have done it and we never will. As a human he definitely wasn’t a good one between keeping other talent down, blocking the unionization of wrestlers, the shortcomings a husband and father, and mostly the absolute racism that we heard come out of his mouth on a few occasions . And it’s hard to separate the art from the artist but in the end he‘s gone now his legacy forever tarnished but still the way he made people feel in the 80s and what Hulkamania did is undeniable. Wrestling has been such a huge part of my life for so long and it’s just so confusing for me as to what I feel. I’m not happy a man is dead I’m also not sad he’s gone. I’m more just realizing that an icon was killed long ago and his shell finally just died. He’s dead it’s over the dancing on the grave is not what I’ll do but I also won’t mourn I’ll just remember how old school wrestling made me feel.

Of course it didn’t take WWE long to put this together. Brought a tear to my eye.
