This is going to be a total disaster. I don't even understand the political undertones of it all, considering the WWE has been explicitly right wing, so who is this even for?

I dunno how US people see it, but from an outside perspective (i.e. having watched US shows/movies my whole life) I always felt like Olympic Wrestling is deeply imbedded in American culture. Not as much as American Football, Basketball or Baseball, but I'd assume it's still a Top 6 sport within collegiate sports and has enough of an interested fanbase. So I can definitely see them go all patriotic with this, especially with a sport that would make it relatively easy to do it with and that is already very close to a very "American" entertainment product like Pro Wrestling.

...and then just think of guys like Kurt Angle or Gable Steveson. It does have "hand and foot" (as we Germans would say) to get enough eyes from certain viewers on it, if done right, I'd think.
