How to expand the typing area...

Here is my question, and it's a simple one really: How does one go about expanding the window that you type into so it takes up the whole screen? I really hate scrolling up and down when I am typing to format something, and having the whole screen visible would help...

I was referring to when you start a topic or post, i.e. in Be The Booker or the like. The only reply button is in the bottom right, not upper right.
