Sure he's already a star but this is the (V)trigger being pulled my friends.

Tell the world how awesome he is, go the whole Tokyo Dome hog and then have them SMASH somebody. Anybody.

This is a damn near perfect segment and AEW telling the World that they they're about turn it up a notch.

Actin' like an anime character makes you a star?

Not sure what about that video is acting like an anime character.... for me it was the listing real world acholades one after the other in quick succession while using a pre-entrance theme over a cool looking video to get people pumped up (along with references to a former character that everybody knows) before having the guy that is literally one of the top two or three in the world go over clean in two moves that makes me think this is the way to do things.

The crawl at the bottom of the screen pushed him (AEWs only 30 match winner, 4-0 this year), the commentary noted that he was ranked in the top 5 singles competitors when he was in a tag-team.... they know how to push a guy.

At the point AEW started Omega was arguably the top in ring performer on the planet (and inarguably, alongside Styles and Okada, one of the top three) and they've put him almost exclusively in the tag division since then.

It feels like they've kept the star that Omega could be in America purposly subdued to get other people over and that they've decided that now is the time to push the guy that is undoubtedly the crown jewel in the roster of a work-rate federation.

Dude is a megastar in the making and those that don't understand that yet will after AEW push him.

I'm going to resurect this thread because there doesn't seem to be another one dedicated to what's going on at the moment.

The cross-over with Impact isn't going to change the game for AEW, but it might draw some more eyeballs to Impact. What's more interesting though is the tease on this weeks show that the Impact stuff wasn't the end of it. Sure they could maybe do ROH but to me, everything right now is suggesting that the end game here is an AEW New Japan partnership (one of the Impact guys is in the Super J-Cup today already, so clearly there's no issue with those two working together).

It seems that AEW are very much in the New Japan mindset of working with other companies raises everybodys boat... New Japan is the biggest they could realistically do, so imagine this:

Kenny Omega standing in the middle of an AEW ring. AAA Mega Championship on one shoulder, Impact and ROH titles on the other, AEW title around his waist. Telling the world that he's the best in the world and he holds all of the gold to prove it.

And then we crash to black and this kicks in....
