I mentioned to James earlier that I thought if anyone would be a good "mastermind" it would be Paul Heyman, as he's been wronged by the 'E and well, would just be awesome. But i'd rather it be no leader at all.

Anyway, long term i'd rather them not be heels or faces and just be anti-establishment (Which by the way i'm sure would get them cheered way more than booed.) And get the traditional bad guys and good guys to join forces and muddy the waters a bit. Also, NO turns from either side during this story, with the MAX of one per side. As mentioned they have to look like big time players immediately, JG, Bryan and someone else (I'd prefer Skip.) Need clean (As in non-flash pin nor heelish) wins over some upper mid-carders/ME'ers all throughout. If Wade becomes champ, some hijinks in his title match would work. And also i'd rather the season 2 guys stay out of it completely.

I have an idea for a short plan to book it on Monday if I were in charge (I highly doubt this will happen...for obvious reasons.) anyway as long term is too hard to tell.:

At the start (Or preferably end of, after hyping McMahon making an announcement throughout the show.) of Raw, Vince comes out solemnly, not strutting or anything, gets in the ring that he reverses the decision and announces that all 8 rookies are fired from WWE for good and effectively banned from all WWE sanctioned events. *Followed by a closeup of security standing behind a door with pictures of all 8 rookies under a "DO NOT ALLOW ON PREMISES" sign for good effect, then back to Vince with possibly a fiery speech about how you don't mess with the WWE Universe, and you don't mess with me!* And as soon as the crowd gets hot and riled up, Wade Barrett's face comes on the titantron, followed by a quick sypnosis of "Alright, we're not gonna show up at the building tonight, Vince. We'll do things you're way." And Vince giving a response asking for an explanation or else or something to that extent, followed by Wade simply laughing into the camera before it pulls back to show...the other 7 rookies standing over a fallen Triple H with his house trashed around him, and the show would end with Vince promising vengeance (No offense, Kane.) and threatening the guys and all that stuff.

It would give a reason for Vince himself to let the NXT gang back into their building, as well as put over the gang as beating up another ME'er, and gives a reason for Trips to stick his big nose into this feud in the end. Although I agree it should be a mix of ME'rs, mid-carders and even lower carders that deserve a push. It would make things more even as well as leave some top stars to compete over the title. In the end it would go something like this.

7-on-7 match at SS, Mania, whatever.

Wade/Tarver/Skip/Otunga/Slater/Young/Bryan vs. Gabriel (He'd be my one turn from the team, as being apart of a renegade group might not be the best role for him.)/Cena/Trips/Punk/Bourne/and a couple of guys who have a beef with the gang throughout the storyline for some reason who say they want to "step up" to get rid of the gang once and for all.. Like Yoshi Tatsu, Ryder, Miz or whatnot.

Just fantasy booking, but I hope WWE treats this like the big deal it is, and has a proper end game in mind for this storyline.

Paul Heyman as the mastermind would be AWESOME.

This angle is very hard for me to book, because I wouldn't want to push the NXT guys to the moon. I like Wade Barrett, but he's not World Champ material yet. I'm a big Danielson fan, however it could be difficult for him to sustain his sucess in the WWE. I really don't see why the WWE would push the NXT guys over someone like CM Punk. Who's off to a great start, but needs to go the extra mile to become part of the elite. You have to push the right guys, and the WWE has been failing at this the past 6-7 years. (well some failures, not all) Don't get me wrong i like the youth movement...but you can't push all the youth at the same time.

^ True, but he never pinned Cena to win the belt, it was put over as a lucky win by Sheamus because Cena just slipped off the top rope. I should probably rephrase though, I don't KNOW 100% that they'll job Barrett in 10 minutes, its just what my gut feeling is. If they were smart, they'd either make it a competitive match where Barrett takes Cena to the limit, or they put the belt on Barrett.

A ten minute match would be huge for Barrett. Going ten minutes against the face of the company is good enough without needing to go over. You're too eager for a big push from a guy who JUST got onto the main roster. I saw the same reaction with Sheamus. Guys like Chris Benoit, Eddie Guerrero, Chris Jericho, Steve Austin, The Rock, and Mick Foley went YEARS (sometimes DECADES) on the mainstream circuit before winning the world title. Even John Cena waited three years, and that was seen as a very strong, very fast push. There's a reason that guys like Brock Lesnar and Bobby Lashley outgrow the industry so fast; their a symptom of the growing problem in the wrestling industry--an impatient, immature audience.

Jesus Christ, let's allow this angle to play out and give these guys some good exposure. We'll be able to tell who will stick, who will connect with the audience, and who should be kicked to the curb. Through this these guys can create characters, gain some standing with the fans, and then we can see what happens.
