JVCD would roundhouse kick every UFC guy and win all titles in all weight classes.

Van Dam has a legit kickboxing record of 18-1. He would have likely found more success in MMA than Lee, though both would get mauled by a competent grappler

Jesus you can't be serious lmao. weight classes exist in combat sports for a reason

I couldn't care less that weight divisions exist, or why they exist. Despite the fact that size is always an advantage of some kind, it still doesn't guarantee who could win in a real-life physical confrontation. You can't possibly know how much skill, strength (strength isn't just a physical thing, it's mental, too), toughness, speed, fighting technique, etc. someone has. There's been plenty of small(er) guys who have taken their larger counterparts in real-life.

Just thought I'd drop this here... If you have never seen The Protector DO NOT watch this... go watch the whole movie.. if you have seen it then enjoy one of it's many great scenes again. (and yes that first guy is former WWE wrestler Nathan Jones)

you are speaking purely from ignorance so I forgive you

weight classes are far from the only issue with your asinine pondering of if any man could take on Bruce Lee

GSP is gonna be in the remake of Kickboxer is't he?
Batista has a part as well breh.

Also if Lee was still alive and stepped into the UFC (Assuming he was in his prime) he would get his ass handed to him in a paper bag if he solely relied on strikes and did not adapt into a full fleshed mixed martial artist.

Faber would choke him out within the first 2 minutes.

I think most guys in the UFC would take him out without that much of an issue. Jones, Mauler, Shogun, Machida, Faber etc etc. All would walk into a match with Bruce as pretty clear favorites IMO. Hell, I'm pretty confident Rousey could take him out.

Anyone at WW or heavier it wouldn't even be fair.

I've always heard Lee walked around at 132, meaning no way he could cut to 125 seeing as he had like no body fat. 135 would be his class, which is why I said Faber.

If you want to take Lock hards post literally, then yea, obviously any LHW or HW would fucking kill poor Bruce Lee. Imagine a power double leg from Chael followed by ground and pound lol. Lee didn't have any grappling experience to my knowledge, so he would be a fish out of water. Become the teacup.

"The best fighter is not a boxer, karate or judo man. The best fighter is someone who can adapt to any style. He kicks too good for a boxer, throws too good for a karate man, and punches too good for a judo man" - Bruce Lee

(What I am typing after this I am recalling from memory from the many books I've read on Lee)

Bruce's philosophy and the style he created (Jeet Kune Do) was literally "a style without a style"... he trained in every martial art available during his lifetime.. include grappling techniques (Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Judo). He was not a master of every art though... he only learned the things he wanted to add to Jeet Kune Do.

Example: Here you can see Lee finishing Sammo Hung with a combination of Judo and BJJ tosses followed by an armbar.

(Yes, I know it's a movie.. but I am talking of his abilities.. and the fact that he is performing the styles proves he had the ability.)

(Now my opinion)

If Bruce were to have continued living his love for martial arts would not have died out.. Jeet Kune Do would have evolved into something much more complex, than what it ended up being, with the addition of new martial arts styles. He was a martial arts connoisseur.. to believe that he would not have grown in his styles is ridiculous. He would have loved MMA and the competition that is born from it... but he could have never performed as he would have been too old.

Would the Bruce Lee at the time of his death had been able to make it in MMA? At his weight class I believe there would have been no fighters that could have come forth to truly challenge him. He was a man who, although he had a sense of humor, when he was talking or practicing martial arts he was totally serious.. his training for MMA would have been more grueling than you could imagine and he would succeed.

Bruce would have been killed in an MMA/UFC ring.
