Look, we know we will probably never have the greatness that was the attitude era tag teams back, so we firstly need to stop comparing everything to that. Just like the rest of that era, it's gone.
However, that doesn't mean we can't have a good, solid tag team division. I always liked tag team matches, and so have most wrestling fans, but for te past couple of years, it's been a let down. It was dominated by makeshift teams like Rey/Batista or HBK/Cena, or even Cena/Batista, to progress a feud. That was really a let down to me, because the tag divisionnever got going anywhere.
But now, I want to see what everyone thinks of the current state, and how much work you think has to be done to get a good division. Again, that doesn't mean it has to be the best it's ever been, but just a good, solid form (early-mid 2000's?)
IMO, it's not that much. I think to have a good tag division in the wwe, you need about 8 actual teams.
Right now, we have:
The Colons (Primo, Carlito)
Miz and Morrison
Team Priceless
Ryder and Hawkins
Cryme Tyme
Jesse and Festus
And there is always one team of makeshift guys (Right now it's Punk and Kofi)
That's 7 teams, and I think there needs to be 8 teams to have a good division..
I think if wwe could bring up a team like te Highlanders, and actually make them mean something, and use their gimmick well, we could have a good tag division.
So what do you think. Is a good tag division wishful thinking? Or could we have one with just a few changes.
