Rarely wrestles on TV, plain Jane character, all matches end the same....sounds like Brock Lesnar.
Champions shouldn't wrestle all the time...should be a perk for being the champion.
Nobody gets heat anymore, that's the problem. Jinder gets it because he's everything you say he is....it's working.
Ric Flair and Jake Roberts mic work. ...this isn't the 80s anymore...everyone knows this is a work. Cutting entertaining promos just babyfaces a heel.
We don't need cool heels....that's what faces are for. Maybe if all heels played the Jinder tune....we would have over babyfaces.
I mean it's fair to criticize Lesnar for the same reasons, but that's ignoring the fact that his reputation far exceeds Mahal. He has a track record of amazing matches, constant overness and drawing power. He's already a legend in two industries. He has the incomparable Paul Heyman as a manager. People look forward to seeing him. He's not known to have people run in to help him save his title.
And I personally can't see how you'd prefer to have uninspiring/annoying/mediocre heels that people legit don't care to watch versus heels that the informed portions of the audience would cheer because they're awesome. I can enjoy a heel and still tell he's the bad guy and experience the show all the same. Everyone does know it's a work, that's why I feel like it's ok if the "bad guy" gets over with some people. And if it gets really bad and your heel is getting more support than your face, you can just roll with it, twist the story however needed. I mean CM Punk was intended to be the heel in his renowned feud with Cena but that's not how it was recieved. They didn't change what they were doing any, they just let the people who liked Punk cheer for Punk and the people that liked Cena cheer for Cena. And in the end, the most legitimately over guy got the rub. To me, that's a good scenario.
But ultimately, I can enjoy wrestling almost no matter what. It's cool that Jinder is champ, but it's far from my favorite thing, and like any human I'd like to see his reign given some kind of fresh spin or ended, whichever is going to create the most entertaining product for myself. Personally I'm pulling for AJ Styles as next champion, but only so he can eventually drop it to Kevin Owens.
