He will probably still have a contract with TNA and just disappear from television for a couple of months to do this tour. I like how he organises these things but doesn't plug TNA in the process. Granted I would prefer him to do something like this than wrestle again.

Hogan doesn't plug TNA because TNA doesn't plug any other outside of their little bubble.

That being said, if Hogan leaves, he still leaves as Hulk Hogan, and TNA will be left broken.

Hogan found himself in the great position of just being able to leave whenever he wanted and say "They didn't listen to me brother." And people would most likely believe him because of the sheer ineptity of the people in charge of TNA.

So good for him if he leaves, he can still do other things.

In my personal opinion, Hulk Hogan leaving is good for TNA. He has had more than enough time to bring the company to another level, like he said he would do, but they are still doing the exact same numbers as before he joined. Him leaving would open up more money for TNA since they wouldn't have to pay him obviously (Idk how much he gets paid, but I doubt he works cheap). So basically if he leaves, all that would happen is they have to cut one less big pay check.

TNA could bring in anybody and they will still be at the same place in ratings and PPV buys.

Angle hasn't helped, Foley hasn't helped, Sting hasn't helped. Hell the biggest name in wrestling Hulk Hogan couldn't help.

TNA is just a non non factor, and I'm aware I said non twice, but thats just how much of a non factor they are.

Their roster in the past 5 years have included most of the biggest names from the most lucrative time in pro wrestling history and they still can't get past a 1.5 rating.

But seeing as TNA is used for tax breaks by Panda Energy, it's not going anywhere andytime soon.

Fair enough but I would have thought that Hogan who seems to want to help TNA so much would at least mention them and give them a plug. Then again it is Hogan I am talking about and he isn't the most modest person.

I agree it would be best for TNA if he leaves. It reduces the wage bill by a lot and would give more tv and ppv time to actual wrestlers to try to boost the rating that way.

Because of that TNA should try to cut their loses and get rid of guys like Hogan, Bischoff, Angle, Sting. All the expensive wrestlers and aim to produce a product for less money that would get a similar rating to what they currently get. I don't know why TNA don't get it, the big names from the past don't cut it anymore and the fans clearly aren't going to tune in just because of them. They need to build a brand that is entertaining and that is an alternative to WWE.

Those big names bring in people initially. It's just what I've been saying since the day I first joined an online forum. Nostalgia works, TNA gets a buzz when a big name is attached to their product, it's just that their shows are so terrible, it just fizzles out the interest almost faster than they got it.

But the point you have failed to mention is that along with Russio, Hogan and Bishoff were given creative control of TNA after they arrived, so the fact that Hogan's name as part of TNA has meant nothing actually is more down to him than the company, it has been them who have been shoving Hogan down the fans throat, and it has back fired. Fact is that Hogan's name maybe doesn't carry the same sort of drawing power it once did, and the fans certeinly don't want to see him pushed ahead of the main roster week in and week out.

Another thing is that you can't really say that the likes of Angle and Sting have not made a difference at all, clearly more people know of TNA, and have followed them as a result of those names being on board, and for a while at least the ratings did go up. The trouble is like you said when a promotion is so badly booked and promoted there is only so much those guys can do. But to sum up I would say that the likes of Angle and Gail Kim [just wanted to throw her name in there as she never gets her due] have or did add value to TNA, where as Hogan has not, and I agree 100% with Seaks post that it can only be a good thing to get rid of Hogan.

Hogans creative control was already implied in my first post, when I said he was put in a great position to just walk away and say "The didn't listen to me brother." And he would still be Hogan and TNA will be left broken.

It's TNA's fault that they put themselves into this position. I said it when they first announced Hogan and Bischoff signed with TNA. Hogan and Bischoff assumed no responsibility if this failed and can leave and still be themselves, while TNA took all the risk and will be left dying as a result of it.

But again seeing as Panda Energy uses this company as a tax break, and when TNA loses money, the tax break gets bigger. TNA doesn't seem to be going anywhere anytime soon.

Another thing is that you can't really say that the likes of Angle and Sting have not made a difference at all, clearly more people know of TNA, and have followed them as a result of those names being on board, and for a while at least the ratings did go up. Sting and Angle haven't made much of a difference the ratings for TNA remained the same when TNA announced the signing of both of them. And you talk about how Hogan was shoved down out throats and use these two as examples as to what is right about TNA is ludicrous. Angle was the whole fucking show during his first year in TNA. Holding every belt and having Blue storylines that buried AJ Styles and turned him into a goof. Thats better than Hogan?

What about Sting? Most of the shows were designed around him and Abyss that mirrored a terrible mexican soap opera and insulted the intelligence of every wrestling fan who watched it. And thats better than Hogans run why?

TNA's only ratings spike was when Christian hopped aboard and won their title. His title reign was TNAs biggest drawing period. Impact was almost doing 2s(1.9 to be precise) and their buyrates were actually in the 6 figures instead of the low 5 that plagues them now.

Angle and Christian's matches back in like..2007 (around when Impact went 2 hours) was the "Golden years" of the company. As much as they say Hogan, Bischoff and Russo are the problem, I don't think that TNA turning into a legit threat to WWE is just as close as firing the three of them.

TNA's rating aren't so horrible in relation to the network they are on. Spike TV is a garbage network. Just sayin'. That said, getting a new head writer in there and drastically changing the focus of the show doesn't sound too difficult. That doesn't mean it's easy, but it doesn't sound terribly difficult.

It's not like TNA has to worry about a flaw in the logic of the booking change. Has anyone EVER seen any logic in a TNA program? lol

It would almost seem like the people in charge of TNA give less of a fuck about their compay than the fans do.

You know if TNA wanted to make bank right now I have a simple solution.

Hire Ultimae Warrior. Hire him leave him off air for a month or two after that your ratings are going to pop with people waiting for him. Then do some bs swerve like Jay Lethal as Warrior. As long as you get Warrior to sign it doesn't matter if he's never on tv.

TNA Impact never rated anywhere near close to a 2. During his first title reign Impact was around the 0.8-0.9 mark and during his second title reign around 1.1. The highest rating Impact has ever received was the 1.5 they did just over a year ago. Plus I am pretty sure that they have never ever crossed the six figure mark for PPV sales. They have always been in five figures.

When RAW was on SpikeTV it would have averaged close to 4 so people will find the channel if the product is any good.

But all I said was that their ratings did improve as a result of people like Christian, Angle and Sting being part of the company, and certainly more people know of TNA today because of those guys, and that is true. Also Angle is a very different case than someone like Hogan, because when he joined TNA he was in his prime, [and to be fair is still one of the best all round talents todays], when he had that feud with Samoa Joe that was one of the hottest things in wrestling at the time, TNA was on a roll back then. It is easy to be smug now because of the state they are in, but at the time there is no reason why they could have not gone on to be a force if they had kept on booking guys like Angle, Styles and the X Guys the way they were, but sadly they didn't.
