I'm a Blackhawks fan from Wisconsin and I typically have to watch their games online since I don't have hockey and live too close to Minnesota so the Wild's games interfere lol. @Davidson I can share with you later how you can stream the games online if you're interested.

I like the Hawks, but L.A. has just too much firepower up front, and Quick is incredible between the pipes. Good luck though, I'm sure they'll do better than my Leafs :sad1:

Quick is a BEAST. He irritates the daylights out of me since he stops everything in sight but I respect the crap out of him as an athlete.

Aww you're a Leafs fan? I'm so sorry :dawg:

I actually think Leafs will make the playoffs this year, they are always better in the short amount of time, like last fall when they were in the top of NHL until they started to lose in like mid november. So I think they can make the playoffs!

Really? I didn't know they signed a deal and ended this mess yet... Did a quick Google search, and apparently they decided to announce this on NFL Playoff Sunday.

When do the rangers play their first game??? That's who i'm going to follow!

Also, are they any good?

Saturday against the Boston Bruins @ 7pm EST.

They are awesome, my pick to come out of the Eastern Conference.

I will try. Hopefully it's on tv because my kids will be here, and I can't really pay attention to my laptop while they are running rampid. I'll try to find the rangers website and find out!

It's on NHL network and I get that. Hopefully I can find streams for the other games :smug:

It's the perfect season to get into it. It's only a 48 game sched so you won't be overwhelmed. Also, all the the games are in conference, so you'll get to know the teams that the Rangers have to beat out to make the playoffs/win division/win conference. Finally, feel free to ask any question anytime, there's almost nothing I like to do more than talk hockey.

I see what you did there, and I wont hesitate. I actually am trying to figure out the line changes and stuff. So do some of the best players play 2nd and 3rd line? Shit is confusing, i'd much rather just have a first line that just dominates when they come in.

Well you kind of do, here's the breakdown:

Line 1 is usually your top scoring line, with your most talented forwards.

Line 2 is your secondary scoring line

Line 3 is usually a defensive line that can go up against the other team's top line, or chip in offensively if needed.

Line 4 usually gets barely any playing time and is usually home to the fighters on your team. It can also be used as an "energy" line, meaning if the team is sluggish they can come on for a bit, throw their bodies around, and get energy flowing on the bench again.

As for the defensive pairings, they basically go
D1 your best pairing

D2 your second pairing

D3 Your third best pairing

Defense has more room to play though, cause you could want to have an OFD (offensive defenseman) play with a DFD (defensive defenseman) for balance. Or have two DFDs as a shutdown pairing.
