As a big time fan of this franchise who is still getting my feet wet with the new "Absolution" release of yesteryear, this definitely caught my eye recently.

As one of the greatest franchises of the PS2/Xbox era, this box set is long overdue. Kind of pisses me off that it is just NOW being released while the PS3 and 360 are both on the edge of their respective life cycles.

"Hitman: Blood Money" still stands as one of my absolute favorite games of all time and it was single-handedly responsible for my fondness of stealth games. I tried playing Slinter Cell before it, but nothing hooked me like "Blood Money".

"Hitman 2" and "Contracts" are both a lot more linear than "Blood Money", but still considerably ahead of their time.

For $40, this is a pretty sweet deal. If you haven't played the Hitman series yet, there is no excuse not to anymore.

Never played any of the games but it's always something I've wanted to give a go.

Question about the games though? Is it more about stealth and then eliminating your target or is it more action packed...with shootouts ect?

It really depends on how you're trying to accomplish your missions. Every mission has a certain target or targets that you're required to eliminate, which is the primary objective. How you do it is entirely up to you. The ideal way to play the games are to remain undetected and not kill anyone but your targets, but occasionally shit happens (especially on your first playthroughs). The first few times you play through a mission, you'll likely kill people you don't necessarily have to, but as you replay them you'll find ways to not only NOT kill anyone but your targets, but also make their deaths look like accidents rather than shooting them in the face. That's the most challenging way to play. The reason you end up killing innocents is usually to eliminate witnesses (which the game penalizes you for leaving) or to acquire disguises.

Of course, when you're playing the game drunk or something, you might just decide to kill every breathing human being in the level just for thrills. Particularly the Mardi Gras level in Blood Money where there's hundreds of people walking the street lol

Been looking into playing these. My best friend has em, so might ask to borrow them and give them a try

Will probably suck at them, but the concept seems promising

Hitman-Blood-Money-Paris-Opera.jpg

This is a really cool level in Blood Money where you're at the Paris Opera and your target is one of the actors on stage and his friend watching from his VIP suite. It' one of the first levels and it really sets the tone for the game perfectly. There are SO many ways to do this level, but my favorite involves sniping the poor bastard like this from the control room when the other actor on stage fires his fake gun at him. You can also break into their dressing room and swap the fake pistol with a real one and you never even have to fire a shot.

This is one of the most-memorable levels where you have to find and take out these 3 assassins at a Mardi Gras parade before they assassinate a politician on a float. Finding them can prove difficult since there's literally hundreds of AI's walking around on this level.

Here's a capture from the White House mission where you have to assassinate the Vice President, but this sort of thing is what you really want to avoid. Don't want to start killing people like this unless you fucked up somewhere and are just trying to eliminate witnesses.

Silent Assassin and Contracts are beating my ass. I just can't do it. I'm so glad for Blood Money's inclusion though, that game still holds up.
