SmackDown wrestler Super Crazy (real name Francisco Pantoja Islas) reportedly quit the company at a show this past week.

It came out of nowhere, and he is said to be unhappy with his status in the company. He's been been promised pushes a number of times, but they have never materialized.

Senior Vice President of Talent Relations John Laurinaitis didn't take the news too well. Laurinaitis told Islas, "Do you know how many wrestlers in Mexico want to be here."

Islas was telling friends that despite his low-level position with the company, he was happy with the pay, but unhappy with his job.

Should WWE release Islas, he is eligible to collect three months of pay without working due to the non-compete clause, but he's willing to waive it because he simply wants to wrestle to the best of his ability. If he waives the non-compete clause, he is still not able to go to TNA for 90 days, but that's probably not his goal anyway.

In an update to this story, his profile has been removed from the SmackDown section on WWE.com.

UPDATE:

WWE.com released the following statement a short while ago:

Super Crazy released
Written: November 5, 2008

World Wrestling Entertainment has come to terms on the release of SmackDown Superstar Super Crazy as of Nov. 5, 2008. WWE wishes Super Crazy the best in all future endeavors.

He didn't do much, but he was still fun to watch.

He was talented...3 or 4 years ago. Am I the one who remembers the "great matches" and high flying moves he pulled with Paul Burchill not so long ago in Raw?

Super Crazy...welcome to AAA or CMLL.

Seeing how Pedro Aguayo and Mistico both declined the WWE, and the bitch it was to sign Dos Caras Jr, not many I would say

^Fixed. I'm sure there would be plenty of Mexican wrestlers willing to go up, the ones who are actually good enough to deserve it, obviously aren't that interested. I don't blame them either.

Since when was Super Crazy on SD???

Holy shit I thought he was still on RAW, that just goes to show how terrible WWE was using him anyways so I don't blame him for leaving/quitting. He's definitely not Evan Bourne but I think he could've been easily over with the fans as a solid mid-carder if he was ACTUALLY being used properly.

Any possiblities of Crazy going to TNA? I can't see him personally wrestling in Mexico with no national TV recognition on the U.S.

He was very talented in ECW and he can do alot in the ring, he isn't young anymore but I think he should atleast deserve to pick up a win once in a while. TNA won't be using him that much and he will probably be done with wrestling or go to indie feds.
