What better way for the Reigning King of the World and Top Ranked Predictor to become only the third person to successfully defend the WPC title than by putting in a perfect performance? Chris scored big and went 4-1 but Raidokkens 5-0 sees him advance to defend the title again, this time at the G1 Climax Finals on October 18th against the freshly minted Open The Prediction Gate Champion.

Speaking of Chris's 4-1 performance... The WPC title wasn't the only title up for grabs at NXT31, the first ever Open the Prediction Champion was crowned. This title match saw Chris vs Sky vs Jimmy King vs Doom in the fatal fourway action that this title will be come known for and, when the dust settled, it was

Chris!!!!​

That became the first ever Open The Prediction Gate Champion!

Sky also managed a 4-1 performance but, due to a higher placement in the World Prediction Rankings, Chris takes the victory, the title and the number one contendership to the WPC title which comes with it. Doom and Jimmy King put up a valiant effort with their 3-2 performances but it wasn't enough on this occasion.

The other match on the card was, of course, the all comers invitational to decide the three challengers for the Open The Prediction Gate Championship at the next event. 6 people were tied on 4-1 at this event which meant that two of the three were decided based on placement in the World Prediciton Rankings... Those two being HoHo and Sky. The third qualifier was newcomer Lethal Banks who put in a PERFECT ROUND in their DEBUT performance. If Banks keeps this up we could be looking at the fastest rising predictor in WPC history....
