Well, it must not be that bad if you're not even willing to pony up the money to go to the dentist.

Try having a tooth infection (which I've had twice.) It feels three times as painful as an ordinary tooth ache does, and regular pain medicine that you can buy from the store (Orajel is what I always used) isn't really effective at all in helping lessen the pain. You'd be begging to go to the dentist if it were an infection.
