What do you think was the point of HBK's injury fake? I KNOW obviously to set up the feud with Jericho. But I mean, do you think they were trying to turn him heel? Because Ihave a feeling they were but it backfired. HBK laid out Jericho's ass last night and admitted to lying but they still cheered?
Do you think they were trying to make Jericho heel by accusing HBK of lying?
Trying to turn HBK heel by faking and it backfired?
Or do you think they had HBK fake but still WANTED him to stay face like he is now, and just know that the fans always support him (except me)

Its just that Shawn has reached the Hogan/Taker plateau. Basically, he can kick a puppy on tv and he'll still get cheered. I agree with you in that it seemed like they wanted to turn Shawn heel, but the fans would have none of it.

Besides, Jericho makes for a better heel, and I'd rather see him turn instead.

Maybe, but it's like soulpower said, Shawn Michaels is where Hogan and Undertaker are at that no matter what they do, it's almost impossible for them to be booed now. (Other then the Shawn Michaels/Ric Flair storyline.) Jericho is much more suited for the heel role anyways, he's also way more entertaining as a heel IMO and it would be better for Jericho to turn heel over Shawn Michaels.

It could be, aside from feuding with Jericho, to feud with Batista some more. Remember, Batista said he'd tear HBK a new one if he found out HBK was faking an injury.

If WWE wanted to turn Shawn heel they needed to do a damn sight more than have him 'play possum' to gain a win....

How many times did the Hitman do that?

Hell; anyone remember a FACE who's motto was "lie, cheat & steal"?

Way I see it is that HBK outsmarted a knucklehead (Batista) & a ref (who's role, amongst others, is to safeguard the wrestlers if they become seriously injurred during a match). So what??? Good for him.

To be honest, I can't make much sense of how this HBK/Batista/Y2J thing has panned out... It just makes the three of them look like squabbling little girlies (Sorry, no offense ladies.). It's a shame WWE coulda pulled something really special off with 3 guys of their stature, talent etc. especially given the Flair back-story.

Swiftly reverting back to kayfaybe, if anything it all looks rather insulting to the memory of Flair.

I think the whole HBK lying about his injury is to set up a run in or some sort of match interference at judgement day by tista. After all tista said that he if Shawn was lying he would pay for it and tista hasn't got a match at judgement day as of yet so the my opinion anyways.

As for HBK going heel that will never happen he is too far over with the fans he will get cheered what ever he does. so it would be pointless to even try to put him over as heel. Y2J on the other hand could easily go over as heel especially if he uses HBK to do it.

the only way HBK gets over as a heel is screwing HHH or Cena...period

I don't know if it was a failed heel turn or not. For anyone but HBK it would have been a definate heel turn. But as people have said, HBK is a difficult person to turn heel, everyone kind of accepts that he's a crafty bastard and fucks people over all the time. Besides, Batista and Y2J are pretty much the tweener heels in this feud. I'm sure we'll see Y2J go full blown heel if he ever picks up his feud with Hardy again.... ya know...for that belt he carries around every once in a while.

If they want Shawn Michaels to turn heel they need to do something better than this. Like attack a fan favorite viciously and 'injure' him for awhile.
