I'm finally going to get a HDTV. I have a nice chunk of cash and the prices are finally just right so I'm going to upgrade to HD. I'm not an HD wiz but I think its best to go for the 1080p TV's. 1080p resolution is the highest you can get and it plays 720p so it sure seems like the best bet. As for type of display, (plasma, LCD, LED) I have no idea whats the best. I here LCD's are the best but I'm not positive. I have a PS3 which as everybody knows plays Blu Rays and has some of the best looking games, so it seems like a no brainer to finally upgrade. I'm looking at the brands that are offered at a good price point. I know that Toshiba fucking blows at making TV's but I can't write up a report card for the other brands yet.

Anyways, is anyone else besides me showing up late to the party?

Samsung is the best TV manufacturer imo. Two of the three televisions in my house are Samsung HD-TVs, one's 48 inches, other is 42. We own 1080p LCD's. Personally from a lot of shopping around I've done for televisions in the past 2 years, I've come to realize that LCD's are the best type of HD's you want to go for. Plasma's tend to leak the image into the picture after long usage and will cause disfunction on your screen. LED's are somewhat of the same. Also with Plasma's, it works weird. When you sit on angled sides of the television, you can't see a thing. LCD's are different.

To sum that all up, go get a Samsung LCD HDTV. You will definitely not be disappointed.

I got a Sanyo 26in in my room and a 52in Plasma in the living room. Once I move out I'm getting a bigger tv for my living room. But when we 1st got the Plasma, I was hooked on HD. With the 3D tv's coming in, it's a good time to get HD tvs because places are lowering their prices for them in favor of the 3D one's.
