I wouldn't say "a whole lot darker" but yeah it definitely used to have more of a darker sense to it.. I don't know it never really seemed like a good gimmick to begin with IMO.

Thread title with the words "given up on" assumes the wwe believed in them to begin with.

They believed in them enough to call them up, that takes a hell of a lot of belief IMO.

Indeed, that was a mistake.. should've had any other idea other than job local wrestlers to them.

Correct. Should've called 'em up with something already in mind for them instead of coming up with stuff as weeks go by.

My problem isn't so much with Conner O'Brien, but this other assclown. Who the fuck is he and how is he supposed to be some badass powerhouse?

Ahh Victor, yeah he doesn't fit the powerhouse model by any means.. I liked it better when Bram (as Kenneth) was apart of the group with Conor.. excluding Tito Colon (AKA One of the Los Matadores). That was a better combo than these current two.

My official judgement is that Ascension will be back full timing in NXT or released by the end of the year.. there's just no following behind these guys as they stand.

Wouldn't surprise me if either options came true.

I hope they don't treat The Lucha Dragons the way they've been doing with The Ascension, though.

See, this is my problem. Shit like this happens, and Vince has the nerve to say they don't have "ambition".
Not to mention JBL's clothesline. Guess these guys with actual potential are buried by management so hard they can't beat up a bunch of old fat guys.
I mean, which one would you remember? Them beating the outlaws at the rumble, or the Outlaws destroying them on Raw?

Fuck. Management.

I do blame WWE for some of this, but........:

1. they shouldn't have these brought these guys up unless they were 100% certain that they would do well (sometimes it's not possible to know this for sure, however).
2. maybe WWE did see something in them, then realized that they weren't fitting well with the current talent - there could be lists of reasons.
3. perhaps these guys pissed off the wrong person in upper management. Althought if this case, and even though it seems unfair, in any business you do have to play your cards right. Not everyone can pull a "Punk" and get away with being asn asshole and champion.

I think that sometimes we, as fans, just default to blaming the WWE for all this. When, most likely, that is the case here. But, sometimes guys just mess it up for themselves and don't perform like they should or fit the character well that they claimed they could do. WE can never know the whole story here.

Plus, i thought that these guys were alright in NXT. They always seemed kind of stale to me.
