John Morrison hasn’t won a match since August.

In that time, the high-flyer from California has been smashed by Cody Rhodes, squashed by Mark Henry and creamed by Wade Barrett. Tough competition, sure, but six months ago this man was the No. 1 contender to the WWE Championship. Now, he’s tasting the bottom of Drew McIntyre’s boot on “WWE Superstars.â€

What the hell happened?

“I’m not Superman, homie,†The Prince of Parkour cracked when WWE.com approached him about his recent ring woes.

Morrison may have shrugged off our questioning with easygoing humor, but it was clear these disappointments have been eating at the talented Superstar. That’s because less than a year ago WWE fans thought JoMo was Superman. His comic book physique and out-of-this-world athleticism had the WWE Universe convinced that he was sent from another planet to change the face of sports-entertainment. But his recent stumbles have stripped him of that otherworldly mystique, leaving him looking oddly human in defeat.
“It’s true I’ve lost some matches over the last couple of months,†Morrison plainly stated. “Maybe more than some. A lot. Most.â€

The Shaman of Sexy’s losing streak can be traced back to an incident in early May when a brutal attack from R-Truth put him in the hospital with a neck injury. He underwent surgery, but The Prince of Parkour was so desperate to get back in the ring that he returned before summer was even over. The competitor wasn't ready and it showed as R-Truth beat him in two consecutive bouts. Morrison eventually defeated his former friend in a Falls Count Anywhere Match on Raw, but the victory wasn’t as sweet as it should have been. (WATCH)

“I finally got some sort of comeuppance,†Morrison said. “Unfortunately, it was like a month too late.â€

JoMo’s frustration with his comeback revealed what’s really been troubling him. Although his neck injury was serious, it didn’t stop him from performing dazzling maneuvers like Starship Pain and the Flying Chuck. What it did do was make the superhero question his invincibility for the first time.

“I came back a little bit too early,†he admitted. “Physically, I’m here. Spiritually, I’m out of my mind. I’ve got all these things going on in the periphery.â€

This disconnect has been all too apparent in The Prince of Parkour’s worst moments, specifically a September bout against WWE Champion Alberto Del Rio, which saw Morrison get dismantled by The Mexican Aristocrat in less than a minute. It was a clear sign that JoMo isn't quite ready to hang with the big dogs and needs to do something drastic if he wants to fight his way back into that spot.

“What I need to do is cut everything off and go back to square one,†Morrison asserted.

For JoMo, this doesn't mean training harder or hitting the gym more often — he’s already in tremendous physical condition. It’s about recapturing the confidence that he's detached from over the past few months.

“What was it that made me want to get into this business as a little John Morrison?" the Superstar asked himself. "I’ve lost touch with that. And for me to be a success I need to get it back.â€

Maybe then John Morrison will be ready to take flight again.

Will Morrison sign a new contract? It's said his contract is up soon

Do you think Morrison will stay in WWE after rumours has it he may be out the door?

Do you think Morrison will get back to where he is?

If Morrison does return, how would you book him for his win after this long losing streak?

I mean the guy apparently is in the doghouse but didn't think it'd be this bad. Given the release of Melina I think if he plans on staying with her he probably is gonna want out. If he decides to choose his career over his gf then I think he wants to stay and work through until he is out of the doghouse. It has happened to some guys as far as being in that dreaded "doghouse" Punk used to get those rumors all the time and of course HHH was in that situation after the MSG deal and to say the least they turned out fine. Not saying Morrison will make it like those two did but I don't think this last the rest of his stay there if he decides to renew his deal.

Easy answer would be to turn him heel to get him back to his winning ways but all they really need to do is try and pull a MVP and bring up the losing streak into a storyline and have him get back on track with some upset wins on some bigger names. Doesn't take a lot if they stick to it to get him back going again.

He was doing well in a lot of matches. Ladder match against Sheamus, RR 2011, Elimination Chamber and FCA against Miz on Raw. Not saying he should have won the belt but he's better than Del Rio.

WWE seem to still have atleast some hope for him, Or atleast it can be seen as a ultimatum. If he signs a new contract and plays it well backstage he could possibly get back in the run when 2012 comes along. But for now he needs to bide his time and if his girlfriend has a heart she should back him, A few years ago people were saying he was the new age Shawn Michaels.

If I were Morrison, I'd sign a new contract and tough it out. Who he faced on Superstars this past week is whose example he should follow.

From all reports, McIntyre actually never did anything to upset anybody in particular, rather it was his wife (now ex) in Tiffany that caused some form of trouble. As a result, McIntyre was punished for it, but his match on Superstars could be a sign of things to come.

With Morrison, he is being punished partly for the crap Melina did, but also for giving Stratus the cold shoulder leading into Wrestlemania. Stratus is held in high regard by WWE management, so refusing to even listen to her is a big no-no. The guy basically dug his own grave here.

I'm sure that if he signs a new contract and pays the price for what he did, Morrison will be back up the food chain in no time. The WWE can't and won't continue to bury somebody as talented and over with the WWE Universe as Morrison is. This is probably to test him to see whether he really wants to succeed, or if he's just there to be a nuisance.

Always hated that whole he was the new age HBK because he doesn't contain half of Shawn's charisma and Michaels was more of an all around wrestler. The only similarity I saw was in their career paths both being the more flashy guy of their respective tag teams turned on their partner and went into the I.C division.

He will only find his mojo again if he signs a new contract. Until he signs that new deal WWE won't push him because there is no point pushing a wrestler when they are on their way out to another company.

He should sign a new deal because it is the best option for him. WWE have shown that they will push him to the top on RAW and will put him in title matches. Unfortunately for him his girlfriend was crazy and caused issues and that along with him not signing a new contract means he is at the bottom of the scrapheap. Once he signs a new deal I am sure that he will be back on RAW weekly and he will start winning again. I have said before that I see him as someone that at best could be a transitional champion but could never carry a brand and be a long term champion. He is too bland and seems like a deer in headlights sometimes when cutting promos.

Morrison did pretty well himself during that tag team. Miz was more entertaining of the two while Morrison was better in the ring of the two so I didn't see it anybody carrying either guy.

Morrison wasn't better in the ring, especially after their first reign. Miz did the most actual ring work and set the pace like Mercury, while he was his natural spotty self.

I think Andrew was referring to Morrison's ECW title reign, the work he did before he and Miz teamed up. He was good in that role when he denounced the Nitro name and changed his name to Morrison. The Tuesday Night Delight could actually cut promos in that character and he wrestled some really good matches especially with CM Punk.

Oh as far as that goes he bored the fuck out of me when he first started out with that. It wasn't until his tag run with Miz where I thought he was doing great character wise.

= While Melina was screwing Batista

Yeah he was decent then. Did he deserve the title no but we all know why he got it.
