Has Goldust retired from in-ring competition?

Kids See Ghosts

Apparently, Goldust has retired from in-ring competition and will go on into a manager role. As seen in the video above Goldust mentions he is looking for his next masterpiece and ''under his direction they will shine''.

Okay so obviously he is going into a manager role, but reports online are also speculating that he is retiring from in-ring competition altogether and becoming a full-time manager.

I honestly didn't even notice lol.

Thoughts?

I can't see Goldust as a manager so I'll say this is just set up for his next feud/storyline after Summerslam.

Agreed. I've never been a fan of the Goldust character, but for what it is, Dustin does play it well. However, that character just isn't suited to be a manager. His promos are too ambiguous. And a manager is supposed to be a mouth piece for a wrestler who is not a good talker... but they should be able to not take the focus away from the wrestler. For example, Paul Heyman talks for Lesnar but he doesn't take the focus off of Lesnar... Heyman's promos make Lesnar seem even more dangerous. Goldust, on the other hand, has always been such an over the top character, he would likely take the focus off the guy he is managing.

I think it would be a bad decision.

I agree that Goldust may not be the best wrestling manager. However, with the right dress and personality Dustin Rhodes or Dusty Rhodes Jr. could probably make a believable manager.

He has a lot of history and family in the business. He has always been surprisingly over with the fans, so it can possibly work if he ditches the Goldust persona.

I guess we will see.

Goldust...what a great character and one of the last true characters
left in the WWE.

I've always liked Goldust and have always seen him as a very underrated
performer.

I've always liked the guys in masks or face paint...I'm not really sure why...

Goldie would be wasted as a manager in my opinion...but the truth is
they need the right role for him to be useful and entertaining...what that
role would be...I have no idea...

A tag team with the Miz? (Maryse is a Masterpiece if you ask me)
An obsessive stalker/eventual manager of Alexa Bliss? (Gold 'N' Glitter?)
A feud with Bray Wyatt? (Talk about polar opposite gimmicks)

Who knows?

Golddust is 15 years older than me, and I get sore just working out in the yard for a few hours. I can't imagine still performing in ring at his age.

I say let the man take a break from in ring performance and make some easy money using the name he's built for himself all these years. He has earned it in my opinion.

I honestly don't know how some of these guys keep performing at 45+ years old. It is very impressive to say the least.
