Here we dont actually care about those stupid celebrations. Who actually made those occassions anyway? So somebody just walk up one day and said, lets make this date for christmass, that date for thank giving, that date for mothers day, this date for labours day... etc. Just WTF. thats stupid imo.
When you want to be a good person, then act the whole 365 days of the year not just one day to say thanks to God or happy birthday father or whatever.
Stupid lame shit tbh.
Oh and Happy Thanksgiving everyone
Thanksgiving isn't a religious Holiday. It commemorates the day that the first English settlers in America had a "peace banquet" with the Native Americans before they acted like the rest of the British and decided they were better than them and tried to kill them all.
Christmas is the "supposed" birthday of Jesus Christ, but it holds a lot of meaning to even non-religious people as well (such as myself).
Mother's day stems back to festivals the Greek and Romans held commemorating the mother of Gods or something like that.
Labor Day was created by worker's unions just to have an extra day off of work.
So, none of them are about "being good" and with the exception of Labor Day, no American Holiday was just "made up."
Oh, what's this?
Ramaḍān is a time to fast for the sake of God, and to offer more prayer than usual. During Ramaḍān, Muslims ask forgiveness for past sins, pray for guidance and help in refraining from everyday evils, and try to purify themselves through self-restraint and good deeds.
