I've seen the original and 2006 remake and it's one of the rare times I think the remake may have been better

I also liked the remake better. Also made for a great theater experience. You could feel the tension in the room during the attack on the camper. My friend turned to me and actually said “if they kill the baby im leaving”. Good times.

Yeah, the remake is a better movie than the original for me, it is one of my favorite horror movies. The sequel is fun and brutal even though it's extremely predictable and generic.

I’m not opposed to remakes…but it isn’t often I think they’re better than the original. So this isn’t a generation thing where I was too young to appreciate the original. That whole era of remakes from Texas Chainsaw through the rest of the aughts was mostly a miss for me. But this one…man…it’s a genuinely good horror movie IMO.

Yeah horror remakes especially I think never get the atmosphere of the originals down, even if they try to do shot for shot, that stuff is just hard to replicate
