Guns: Conceal And Carry

So I just got my permit in the mail the other day, and I can now legal carry a concealed weapon in the state of Wisconsin. The law just got passed this year, and I've grown up with Guns my whole life, mainly do the the fact that I've been hunting my whole life.

I don't live in a bad area, but it something that I felt I should at least have just in case. Don't know when or if I'm going to go out with it, but I'm sure it will happen down the line.

Anyways just wondering what everyone's though on this is. There's now 38 states in the US that allow it fully, I don't know about the UK, ect.

Do you think it's a good law?
Does it call my harm than good, with more people walking around with guns or is it a crime deterrent?

Honestly in this world today I feel like YOU should have a gun if you have a wife and kids. I know I wouldn't want something to go horribly wrong one night and lose a love one because I didn't have a weapon to protect family, friends, myself. It's sad I'm saying this, but it's the truth I'm always hearing horror stories of people breaking in and it going sooo wrong.

I'll be 21 this year I'm going to try and get my license for a hand gun.

Personally I see no real need for concealing it I'd prefer it to be like the wild west where everyone is walking around with a gun on their hip. Everyone had a gun how likely would you be to fuck with someone.

If I live where 'Switch is I'd already have a gun. Here, it's pretty mundane and rural.

I am from Australia and there aren't too many guns here and there is no real need to carry I gun. I would actually feel worried if I felt that I actually needed to carry a gun for my own safety. I wouldn't want to live in an area where I thought that and I would move right away.
