It look like he landed awkwardly on his ankle and instead of just twisting it the whole leg gave out. I've never seen that before, i'm assuming the grip of his shoes didn't allow his ankle to just roll and everything just gave out.

Pretty simple stuff in my book. Angle of leg, angle the foot turns when putting all the weight on it = issues. Pretty interesting honestly, cant wait until that Sports Science tv show checks it out.
