An actual good match between Hulk Hogan & Sgt Slaughter, it might not make my last but it’s worth a watch.

Watched Jushin Liger vs. Norio Honaga from 4/30/91 and 5/31/91 and if possible I want to keep both on my list. Deciding which I wanted over the other was a little tough already, but without potential spoilers I'll say the latter one went in a direction I was actually a little surprised to see so I went with that as superior. Can't find these online so I uploaded them to google drive.

4/30/91
5/31/91

Warrior had a few other good matches. His other one with Savage at SS ‘92, the Hogan one at WM 6, Rude at SS ‘89 and even the Slaughter match at RR ‘91 are all solid.
Yeah but this one for me was his best. But I have fond memories as kid watching Warrior v Hogan on video as a kid was back when WH Smith ordered them from silvervision and my mum would go back in a month to get get them for me.

If you made a 1990 list and were into the Jumbo vs. Misawa singles matches, don't skip the 4/18/91 match. Honestly was surprised by it's quality given it's not really in the consensus as one of the best king's road matches. The crowd are something fierce, too.

1991 was a great year for matches, IMO. If you haven't watched them, go back and watch some. it's really worth it.
Have been going back and watching early 90s stuff and got a few matches in mind but still not enough for a list of 25.

I’ve just rewatched War Games from this year, excellent match.

Yeah it's a tremendous fight. If it's not in my top ten then it's like #12 at worst.

Three weeks is longer than I thought we had, honestly great news as someone with still 35 - 40 matches he'd like to check out.

This match is tremendous and needs more recognition next to their other matches (esp 93) imo

@Dom's cellmate

When I am looking for matches I use the lists from the Internet Wrestling database for best rated matches of the year. I DON'T always agree with their rankings, though. But I watch a LOT of the matches on the list and form my own opinion.

It's a good list to use if you are looking for more matches.

You also have the cage match list which is ordered by average ratings by fans which is linked in the opening post.

Vader vs. Fujinami handheld in Germany's CWA for their vacant intercontinental title. Maybe even better than the fantastic Vader/Muto match from the G1. Fujinami as a babyface here reminded me a lot of peak Tito Santana, but even better.

The date is wrong (the show was eventually found out to have happened on the 16th, not the 19th) and this kind of style isn't for everybody, but here is Ken Shamrock in Japan with poofy ass hair vs. Naoki Sano, in an incredible 25 minute shoot style epic. I could have it top 5, a definite MOTYC to me.

This Sano vs. a very young Minoru Suzuki is even better
