PWInsider is reporting on their hotline today that as speculated, Mark Henry squashing Great Khali on Smackdown was intended to write Khali out of the company. He's going to be heading back to India to pursue a career in film, and his pro wrestling career has come to an end.

I was never a huge fan of the guy, but he did what he could for his size for a while. It's kind of sad that they didn't acknowledge his leaving at all, especially if he is leaving on good terms.

He will be back when the network starts and probably make a rumble appearance.

I always hated others hating on Khali for his wrestling ability because he was always just a novelty act. I'll be sad if I never see him in WWE again... I didn't expect this. I hope SAIYANS is right.

I'd be lying if I said I'm going to miss him, but I hope he went out on good terms with the company.

Thats right.

Can't say I'm going to miss The Great Khali. I can't remember him having a good match or any moment where I found him entertaining. Even more irritating is that he never improved or became more mobile in the ring. As SAIYANS said, Khali was pretty much a novelty act and should be regarded as such imo, but he was one that overstayed his welcome and has been tedious for far too long. I wish him good luck with his future. Now if we can just get rid of Hornswoggle...

By the way, am I the only one who used to get kind of a "Hogan/Bischoff" vibe out of Khali and Rajin Singh? I used to have fun imagining Khali walking out wearing a boa and playing air guitar, with Singh kissing Khali on the cheek and yelling "I love this man!!"

I said NOVELTY ACT plus he should deserve more respect than that a couple years. If he was in 86-88 you'd think he was great but now-a-days you just get concerned he'll get in the way. How? He's so tall and so inaccurate that all his matches prove it. Just let him be. His best match is a triple threat with Batista and Rey. God damn.
