According to reports, Jeff Jarrett was said to be strongly against offering Sting a new contract at the rumored $500,000 per year rate. TNA President Dixie Carter rejected Jarrett's plea and Carter reportedly delivered the contract for Sting to sign.

In some more Jeff Jarrett related news, he has been overheard telling X Division wrestlers backstage that he wants their matches to move as quickly as possible. Jarrett even went as far as to tell them that he wants their matches to resemble "video games" with plenty of action and stunts.

Jarrett is still believed to be on bad terms with is father Jerry Jarrett, who was originally part of TNA since its inception in 2002.

Police in Gwinnett County say an 87-year-old grandmother was held hostage in her own home and beaten for three days.Detectives said the suspect is her grandson.Investigato rs said Roger Thomas Dean, 37, held Lois Brownlee against her will inside her home and physically assaulted her for three days after she returned home without cigarettes."She was out for the day. He didn't know where she was at and also that she didn't provide him with some cigarettes,â€￾ Cpl. Ed Ritter of the Gwinnett County Police Department said. "She told him she was going to call police. He refused to let her call police."According to a police report, Dean took Brownlee’s phone and ripped out the wires.

The report said Dean then told her if she tried to call again he would “fix you the way you have never been fixed before."Police said that in the early morning hours of June 10, Brownlee sneaked out of the house while Dean was sleeping, called family and went to police.Channel 2 Action News dug into Dean's past and discovered he had a lengthy criminal history dating back to 1998, arrested mainly for charges of burglary and theft. There was one charge for escape.Channel 2’s Kerry Kavanaugh visited Brownlee at her home on Gravel Springs Road.

She said she was in pain, emotionally and physically.Brownlee said she didn’t want to talk about the incident or her grandson."I don't want to hurt my grandson no worse than he's already been hurt,â€￾ Brownlee said.The Gwinnett police noted in their report Brownlee had visible bruises on her face and arms when she arrived at the police station.
