A crossover would make good money, which could be beneficial to keeping American Godzilla movies afloat for longer.
The Pacific Rim Universe is completely different from the Legendary
MonsterVerse...you couldn't just cross them over.
Maybe in a video game with an alien invasion/dimension fusion
storyline...but a film...No.
It would not work.
Plus the Pacific Rim Jaegers would last about 3 minutes against
Godzilla & his MonsterVerse friends.
It's hardly any different than a crossover with Kong other than there already being a previous Kong crossover.
Its 100% completely different.
Godzilla is 108 meters tall and weighs 90,000 tons; Kong is 32 meters tall and weighs 90 tons. These numbers come from the Godzilla wikia, and even if you'd like to disregard them, casual observations of both monsters from their respective films illustrates quite clearly the difference of size between the two. The fight is wholly unfair unless Kong magically grows in size like in the original movie, which is silly in of itself.
Well...for the sake of continuity...in Kong Skull Island they
established that Kong is still growing...& around 47 years
will have pasted (in universe) between Kong Skull Island &
Godzilla vs. King Kong allowing them to increase Kong's size
& change his appearance.
I'm not going to argue this point because I've done this dance
before on multiple kaiju forums...and I'm not doing it again.
If you don't think it works...then fine.
I think it will work if its written properly.
I'm not super hyped for a Hedorah return, but I can see it working well narratively and it certainly would be cool to see a modernized CGI Hedorah.
Hedorah is one of my all time favorites...and a modern version
would be great to see.
Hopefully the movie wouldn't be as trippy as the first Hedorah movie.
And I hope it would be. The original Godzilla vs. Hedorah is
one of my all time favorites in the entire franchise & I respect
it for being so "trippy" & creative.
