I can’t wait for the battle between him and Kong.
I second this opinion...but...I have a feeling
this film is going to be epic in its own right.

Godzilla, Rodan, Mothra & King Ghidorah...

Oh My...

Besides Godzilla vs. King Kong isn't out till
2020...so lets not get ahead of ourselves.

Of course you will...I expect every member of the forum
to go & see this film...& you guys better not let me down
on that.

Kaijus are coming back, boys and girls.
The kaiju genre has been doing extremely well since
Pacific Rim in 2013...& Thank Lord Cthulhu for that.

I had to wait a decade for a Godzilla film...(2004 till
2014) & now I'm getting one a year...Yay!

I won't let you down, and to be far some probably won't go see it because they aren't fans of Kaiju, have never watched Godzilla before, or it is too nerdy for them.

Agree, brother Grievous the II

I know that pain as well, my brother.

I've loved Godzilla since I was a kid. I'm really excited to see this since we're stepping away from the weird new monster in the last film and getting to see the classic opponents of Mothra and Ghidorah is great news. Rodan is just the icing on the cake. Hopefully they make it shorter than the last movie and focus more on the monsters than the humans; I feel like they spent too much time on the people in the last movie, which isn't at all what people go to a Godzilla movie to see.

While this movie has me excited, I'm not thrilled by Kong vs. Godzilla since Kong isn't a credible adversary for Big G. I'd much rather see a crossover with Pacific Rim, if the two universes could conceivably crossover without obstructing logic. It'd also be kickass to see Gigan in another movie, especially if they base his design off the Final Wars version of him.

Me to...

I liked the M.U.T.O's...

Especially when Godzilla brutally MURDERED them...

getting to see the classic opponents of Mothra and Ghidorah is great news. Rodan is just the icing on the cake.
But the classics are classics for a reason...& from what I've
read...all 3 classic kaiju are being updated in the best way
possible.

Hopefully they make it shorter than the last movie and focus more on the monsters than the humans; I feel like they spent too much time on the people in the last movie, which isn't at all what people go to a Godzilla movie to see.
With 4 kaiju in the film...they will have no choice but
to focus on them.

It depends on how it is written...and don't discount Kong's agility,
fighting style & sheer brute strength.

No...just no...

Let Del Toro direct a Godzilla film...but don't force some lame ass
crossover. Plus Pacific Rim Uprising was fucking awful IMO.

It'd also be kickass to see Gigan in another movie, especially if they base his design off the Final Wars version of him.
You can't do Gigan without an Alien race to wield him as a weapon...
& while I've always liked the design (Old & New)...he's not that
interesting.

Now Hedorah...that's a creature you could tell a story with.

Let Del Toro direct a Godzilla film...but don't force some lame a$$
crossover. Plus Pacific Rim Uprising was f*cking awful IMO.
A crossover would make good money, which could be beneficial to keeping American Godzilla movies afloat for longer. It's hardly any different than a crossover with Kong other than there already being a previous Kong crossover.

don't discount Kong's agility,
fighting style & sheer brute strength.
Godzilla is 108 meters tall and weighs 90,000 tons; Kong is 32 meters tall and weighs 90 tons. These numbers come from the Godzilla wikia, and even if you'd like to disregard them, casual observations of both monsters from their respective films illustrates quite clearly the difference of size between the two. The fight is wholly unfair unless Kong magically grows in size like in the original movie, which is silly in of itself.

At the very least they can recreate the tree scene, which would be awesome.

Now Hedorah...that's a creature you could tell a story with.
I'm not super hyped for a Hedorah return, but I can see it working well narratively and it certainly would be cool to see a modernized CGI Hedorah. Hopefully the movie wouldn't be as trippy as the first Hedorah movie.

The Pacific Rim Universe is completely different from the Legendary
MonsterVerse...you couldn't just cross them over.

Maybe in a video game with an alien invasion/dimension fusion
storyline...but a film...No.

It would not work.

Plus the Pacific Rim Jaegers would last about 3 minutes against
Godzilla & his MonsterVerse friends.

Its 100% completely different.

Well...for the sake of continuity...in Kong Skull Island they
established that Kong is still growing...& around 47 years
will have pasted (in universe) between Kong Skull Island &
Godzilla vs. King Kong allowing them to increase Kong's size
& change his appearance.

I'm not going to argue this point because I've done this dance
before on multiple kaiju forums...and I'm not doing it again.

If you don't think it works...then fine.

I think it will work if its written properly.

I'm not super hyped for a Hedorah return, but I can see it working well narratively and it certainly would be cool to see a modernized CGI Hedorah.
Hedorah is one of my all time favorites...and a modern version
would be great to see.

Hopefully the movie wouldn't be as trippy as the first Hedorah movie.
And I hope it would be. The original Godzilla vs. Hedorah is
one of my all time favorites in the entire franchise & I respect
it for being so "trippy" & creative.
