Globe Theatre, the home of PWG for the last several years in Los Angeles, is closing its doors.
Prestige Wrestling posted on X Tuesday that they would have to move their December 14 joint event with Tokyo Joshi Pro Wrestling due to the arena closing “immediately”.
“We were notified today that The Globe Theatre in Los Angeles will be closing for good immediately,” they wrote. “We will be announcing a venue change ASAP for our joint show with Tokyo Joshi Pro Wrestling! All tickets will be honored & the show will still take place as planned.”
The venue, which opened in 1913, became best known in pro wrestling for holding PWG events starting in 2018. Other promotions have ran shows in the building since PWG’s arrival, with WrestleCon, Prestige Wrestling and Impact/NJPW all running shows at the Globe Theatre this year.
PWG’s last event at the venue was held in August, with owner Super Dragon recently announcing that the promotion would not be running shows for the rest of 2023 as his girlfriend is battling an aggressive form of cancer.
