Interesting video of Stardust backstage. I actually agree with some of the stuff he says. People collecting paychecks, and taking up space. Here is the vid:

I'm not going to kick off the debate on the subject. I just wanna say that was a great promo and I'm beginning to really want Cody to remain as Stardust for longer. Far more interesting than plain old Cody Rhodes.

Stardust playing the reality era gimmick of shades of grey. I'm down with that. I like when he plays the dark character, because Cody Rhodes by himself is boring and has no appeal at all.

But, shoot time, these types of rants against older guys is easy to respond too, they can collect a check because your ass ain't going to be better than them. Sad.

Reminds me of Millenials acting like the world is theres and they don't have the tools to take over.

Absoutely hate this character and literally skip over it every single time it's on TV. Everything about it is just cringeworthy as fuck from the way he plays it to that god awful hissing sound he does.

Just get this fucking feud over with at Mania so we don't have to hear about them wanting to face each other and then the character to fade away into obscurity where it belongs.

The upstart who does the "you've had your time old man, it's my time now" gimmick can be entertaining and get a guy over if done right. It gives him a little bit of an aggressive edge, which is good. He'll probably be selling like fuck for a while, but if he cheats his way to some wins and gets some heat, that gimmick help him progress a little.

Agreed. I loved it! I hope they keep him as Stardust for a bit also, its just starting to get good!

Ahh come on, the hissing shit is the best part. Its one of those nostalgia things. Have you seen those vids where the kid goes through the drive through as different wrestlers? The golddust one he did was the best!

No because it was a crap feud during WCW's dying days. But like someone said if booked correctly with the right faces involved this kind of thing can work.

Yeah right, nostalgia is going to always trump new.

I also remember the Legend Killer gimmick working for Orton until the silly face turn that killed the golden goose that made people give a shit about him. He's not Orton, not likely going to ever be a main event guy.

But that overgeneralized argument doesn't always hold as true as Kidman vs Hogan. Otherwise nobody gets over.

Another problem with the Kidman/Hogan thing was that Hogan himself wasn't even that over at the time. Not with the WCW crowd anyway. He had long out stayed his welcome.

That is flat out wrong, I've seen the feud recently, that crowd was very into Hogan.

They wanted Hogan over Billy Kidman and that entire shit sammich that was the New Blood.

Orton had Foley to get him over.

Foley got over everyone he worked with. Legend Killer wasn't much outside of a cool t-shirt and really wasn't all that until Undertaker resurrected his career (No pun intended).

In that case in the interest of fairness:vince2: I will take another look at the Hogan-Kidman feud. I guess one of the factors in Hogan being over was that he was playing the face. Face Hogan was in again, it was the heel character who had run out of steam.

I do think you have a good point on Foley's part in getting Orton over. It is something I have always felt, and that match they had at Backlash 04 maybe one of the truly great ever Foley performances. But I still think the legend killer was a pretty hot character at the time and you could see he was going places.
