I think 2014 with Bryan was the most excited I’ve been for a Mania in recent memory.

2019 I was hype mostly for KofiMania. Still one of the few wrestling moments that brought a literal tear to my eye.

I was excited last year, because like 90% wrestling fans, I thought Cody was finishing his story.

This card, the card is stacked and is shaping up to be a lot of good wrestling. I think it would be perfect if they somehow find a way to sneak Gable into the IC title match.

For me it’s WrestleMania 27, because I had tickets for the show lol. So I was really excited for that show lol. But OUTSIDE of that one, it’s probably a slight edge to last year tbh. 30 is definitely up there also.

I assume one is going to be a womens tag match which gets at least the Kabukis and Bianca/Naomi on the card.

Nothing is official but the belief right now is that Steve Austin, Undertaker and John Cena will have something at WrestleMania in some form. At press time, there is no creative locked in for Cena and Austin at this moment, or if there is it’s a well-guarded secret. A lot depends on how much they are willing to do and money. Cena is free but depending on what acting stuff he has and how quick after he’s filming would determine how much he can or can’t do for insurance reasons. Austin and Undertaker would be based on willingness that they have.

I do think it's pretty reasonable to believe that Cody's stock is gonna start to regress once he's actually beaten Roman and made it to the pinnacle.

When so much emphasis has been put on the journey to get there, it's pretty normal for things to plateua and eventually decline once the destination has been reached.

I think it's harder to find examples of faces who didn't fall off to some extent once they finally achieved the thing that got them hot to begin with. And that goes back many years, with most recent examples being the likes of Seth Rollins, Kofi Kingston and Hangman Page.

Now of course you can look down the list and see that just because you lose some of that heat post-title win, that doesn't mean your career is over by any means. But there's almost always a cooling off, whether it be due to poor creative follow-through or fickle fans.

It would be dramatic to say that finishing the story is the only thing keeping Cody interesting, but it's also kinda naive to deny the likelihood of him losing steam after he's become champion.

I think it's funny bc like what's the point. "Cody won't be as popular once he wins" okay so should Roman retain? :lol like no, just because wrestling booking historically fails on follow up a lot doesn't mean you should never book the hot moment for fear of how to do the follow up

Definitely true also. I'm not a WWE fan so my input obviously requires that caveat, but personally after last WrestleMania, I already stopped caring about Cody beating Roman. If he never beats Roman, it wouldn't bother me. However, he's objectively their top face and will continue to be so even if there is a slump after he wins the title, and it's undoubtedly the logical thing to have him go ahead and beat Reigns before a lot more people become disenchanted with the whole thing.
