Tbh I don't see a time in the short future where the Kremlin and Putin's pals are overthrown by the citizenry and Russia actually returns to a somewhat democratic state again like it was in the mid-90s.

I think it'll happen after Putin dies, because he's really been the only guy holding the government together with his influence. Once he dies, the Kremlin will really be in an uproar trying to choose his successor, and the citizenry will probably vote en masse for a different person. Another bad election without Putin's authority can really lead to problems.
