I think that will come to a jurisdiction question. It will be a matter of deciding which court to sue under and what country's laws to apply.

Jirard, nor the OHF, have a real case for defamation or slander. They at no point baselessly accused him of being guilty of a crime or directed any type of illegal activity his way from their fanbases. This would likely be thrown out and/or settled out of court and would be a gigantic waste of money and time for all involved.
