I wouldn't compare them, it's completely different kind of sims game, you're more building than controlling the city. Sims is more controlling, which I enjoy more myself too

The best thing about Cities Skylines is that you can just stop building a lot. With Sim City, you always got the feeling from the game, that you HAD to expand a lot and regularly... but in Skylines it's not the case.

Yeah I just play with everything unlocked, sometimes unlimited money but I don't mind an economical challenge
