I knew a guy that bought a plastic display model ipad on ebay and then purchased a real ipad at target and opened it and put the display model back inside and super glued the plastic back on it so it looked like it was never opened and returned it.

honestly, it really comes down to who is working the counter.

you can get people that don't give a shit and return anything and then you have the people that actually follow the rules.

it's actually illegal to return video games/dvds/cds after they are opened because you can make a copy of them and return it so once one of those are open you can only exchange it for the exact same copy and then they are supposed to open it before they give it to you(break the seal) so that way you can't return it later or at another location and get your money back
