I’m two episodes behind on Rez Dogs too. I’ve been busy watching other things and haven’t got around to watching those

the main plot is that Fry, Leela and Bender go to deliver a package to a motherfucker they literally call the Space King. They show up, and Leela just suddenly falls in love with the Space Prince, even though she's engaged to Fry at this point. The Space King forbids the prince from marrying her because she's a commoner, but Fry challenges to the Prince to a duel to basically defend Leela's honor

That doesn’t sound so bad except for one thing

Leela then ends up doing the duel herself, and kills the Prince (she thought she'd be dueling the prince) and then they fly away. Fry is like "sorry you killed the man you love" and Leela is just like "I didnt actually love him. I was just under a space spell".

but there are also three cutaway segments where they portray the crew members as toys, as part of like Saturday Morning cartoon style ads. These commercials/cutaways have nothing to do with the other plot and serve no purpose. It's a little like the Anthology of Interest but nowhere near as good. And they take up like half the episode. Which just makes the slapdashness and pointlessness of the main plot even worse.

I think the main plot coulda been alright on paper but the way it's executed is terrible. It's very odd the way it portrays Fry and Leela. And then the resolution is as lazy as anything I've ever seen on a TV show. It almost has to be seen to be believed how lazy the writing of this episode was.

Honestly think I enjoy Die Hard 3 just as much as the first movie. Shit is so entertaining to me. Great chemistry with Bruce Willis and Samuel L. Jackson too.
