If Tim Walz ran, I'd definitely vote for him, the issue is that he doesn't have much national pedigree since he's been the Governor of Minnesota for only the last 4 years. Walz's claims to fame: former National Guardsman (Veteran), Former school teacher, cares about kids, he has degrees in social science, he's a mild-mannered chill dude, he doesn't make a huge fuss about things, focuses on what the task is.
