I don't think this specifically would be difficult to achieve. also, I believe there are very basic functions on twitter to get notifs for most things, including likes. it takes almost zero effort, apparently.

and yeah I think two fairly well followed women changing their last name on Twitter wouldn't take long to get noticed especially if they themselves post a lot of those platforms. i dont think this is quite the same vein as digging up old liked tweets, for example
