To make a very good comparison, Umbrella Incorporated was, for all intents and purposes, a darker version of Jurassic Park, and Ozwell E. Spencer, an egotistical and amoral version of John Hammond.

Both attempted to play god, but whereas Hammond did it because he wanted to contribute to science in a meaningfully positive way, Spencer wants to use his human experimentation for capitalist and eugenic purposes. John Hammond was a well-meaning capitalist using his enormous fortune for the benefit of science, Spencer was the equivalent to Josef Mengele, using science to test the limits of human mutation and DNA, bereft of any moral or ethical implications as to what that means.
