He did not. It was written by Lennon-McCartney. Ringo's two major contributions to the Beatles were "Don't Pass Me By" and "Octopus's Garden".

It's also because Ringo's first solo album was mostly written by the other Beatles too. "Ringo" can truly be considered the first real "Post-Beatles Beatles Album."

"I'm The Greatest" was written by Lennon, but given to Ringo because Lennon felt it fit his personality better, "It Don't Come Easy" and "Photograph" (which btw, I can't listen to anymore since it brings up a lot of bad feelings), were written by George Harrison, and "Six O'Clock" was written by Paul.

So if you want to consider an album that featured all four Beatles to be a Beatles album, then Ringo is definitely a Beatles album, just geared towards Ringo.
