Austin said in an interview he would have retired in 2007 but who knows if that would’ve been the case if he had been wrestling all along

But with Austin it’s kind of symbolic he retired so soon cause he had one of the most iconic runs of all time and then left on top. He was the face of the Attitude Era and then peaced out.

Here's a real what-if for you. Uninjured Austin who can still go decently well, still bails on the company after (rightly) pointing out that him putting over the next big thing in Lesnar should not be on a random Raw with no build

And yeah Austin was already mad that in 2002 WWE weren't treating him like a top star anymore. I know he technically returned before retiring but still

Could you imagine him signing with TNA? :heston Actually scratch that because Austin fucking hates Jeff Jarrett.
